Kindergarten students have been enjoying a variety of activities in music class since the start of the school year. We focus a lot on feeling the beat of the music and playing a steady beat. We have learned a few simple songs and we are also learning about the difference between high sounds and low sounds. Students learned about high and low sounds and that a small item--a bird, a mouse, a small instrument, etc.--will have a high sound and a large item--a giant, a bear, a large instrument--will have a low sound. We learned a song called "Good Day" and the students paired high and low sounding instruments with different animals. This week, students will be playing the instruments and singing the song. They are doing a fantastic job using our classroom instruments. Below are a few pictures from Mrs. Carapella's afternoon class and Mrs. Geiselhart's morning class playing along with our song.
